Basic Obedience

 Most of the dogs/puppies that came home in the pandemic have not been used to of living alone for a few hours. Either we have been staying with our family and pooches together or have been working from home all the time.   

Recall is a life saving skill, most of your problems are solved when your dog learns to come back to you when called ignoring everything else around.

My dog/pup jumps on the table, tries to put his face in my food, he steals stuff from our desk/table/kitchen floor etc. To avoid these problems we focus on working and mocking situations from our daily routine which helping your dog to understand good behaviour and boundaries. 

Desensitization in dogs can be divided into multiple topics from sounds, touch to ignoring other dogs and so on. It majorly means that we are helping the dog to stay relaxed or be calmer in situations that otherwise may have caused stress. Like the sound of firecrackers. 

Sit and Down are one of the most basic commands you first start teaching your dog, this is where your dog learns to stay in one place or even settle and concentrate on you. 

 The PLACE command is simply training your dog to go to a specific place, such as a dog bed, mat, raised platform or a place board.  Which can come handy when you have guests over and you want your dog to settle in a particular place, or when the door bell rings instead of rushing and greeting at the door they can wait at the place. 

 Playing fetch is a great way to have fun with your dog and exercise him at the same time. Its also a good trick to teach your dog to drop the toy/object on command. Fetch creates a trusting bond between you and your dog because he learns to share and knows that the toy will be given back to him. 

We all love to watch our dogs when they do tricks sometimes a simple shake hand or a roll over brightens up the people and also keeps the dog occupied and more keen on learning new commands. 

Its an essential part of training for not just the dog but also for the pet parent. Leash trained dog will be more comfortable and relaxed on walks along with the pet parent and no one will get hurt in the pulling  and pulling back. Regardless of age, size, breed every dog should learn to leash walk in a comfortable manner. 

The "No" word is used in the house so many times that the dog gets immune to it and does not listen or follow up with the word no. Sometimes its also called as the dog has developed selective deafness towards that particular command. The trainer here helps the pet parent and the dog both to understand why this word should be used carefully and how you dog will hear what you are saying. 

Dogs have different ways of communication and its important for us to know how to read stress signs in our dog whether he/she is conveying it to other dogs or humans, to help them get out of the situation or help them cope with that situation.
